Umler Upload and Reporting Mark Management:

We are currently managing reporting marks for over 50 clients, with a fleet of more than 3,500 units. We can upload your equipment or correct the entries that are already there under your reporting mark.

Temporary Umler Registration

GLR offers temporary Umler Registration for equipment making a "one time move", such as going to shop for a major rebuild after purchase, or even scrapping. GLR can also provide small fleet services.

Engineering:

We have on staff a Mechanical Engineer full time. GLR can assist you in planning project and getting your plans on paper or digitally. Plan first! It saves time and money in the long run.

Inspection:

Pre-purchase, pre-insurance, or project planning. An inspection can assure that the equipment you want to purchase is exactly what you think it is or that your project will go as planned.

We have added a weight calculator to the Forms Page. The calculator uses base line information that matches Amtrak's base line numbers. If your car weight in Umler does not match Amtrak, this issue needs to be resolved.

A Message from Mr. Trombecky for ALL Amtrak private car owners:

To All car Owners

This is a very important message that you must respond to. Many of the Host Railroads will be turning on a type of PC called I-ETMS. The BNSF and CSX are preparing to activate with this type of PTC. Attached is a list of the car numbers that we still require critical information for. The weight requirement has changed since the first time we have asked for this information. We will need the best loaded car weight for your cars. This information will be required to be in the PTC data base for us to continue to add your cars to trains.

GLR interpretation on this is it includes all physical dimensions, brake system identification, and weight. For Amtrak this is Gross Rail Load. This does not match the weights in Umler. We are working to correct that.
